My work exudes energy and embraces connection and reflection by leading viewers through ephemeral worlds of color. In the highly saturated color palette and expressionistic brushstrokes within my large-scale oil paintings I explore consciousness. I am drawn to vulnerability and self-reflection. During the process of painting and when I share my work, I feel the most exposed, the most raw, but at the same time the most comforted. I want to invite others to be guided by their own individual vulnerabilities as they view my work. There are no rules to making art—it is a safe space where you can be your most genuine self. That is the power of art.
I want to inspire people to think about and question what it means to be on this earth and to connect with others. I want people to be aware—to recognize the difference between individual versus society and absence versus presence.
